Low-slope roofing is a different trade
Flat and low-slope roofs do not shed water the way a pitched roof does — they rely on a continuous membrane, and the critical detail is every seam and termination rather than the field. The equipment, the materials and the failure modes are all different from steep-slope work, which is why it is treated as its own discipline.

Water sitting on a roof is a symptom
Ponding is sometimes a blocked or undersized drain, and sometimes a slope problem — and those are two very different scopes. We check flow before quoting, because replacing a membrane without correcting the fall means you will be looking at the same puddle in a year.
- Seam repair, patching and full membrane replacement
- Moisture survey or core sample before a restoration coating
- Wet insulation removed and infilled rather than sealed over
- Drain, scupper and outlet rework with a flow test at completion
- Curbs, upstands and terminations detailed to the membrane maker’s spec
Coatings: useful, but not a cover-up
A fluid-applied coating can genuinely extend the life of an aged but sound membrane. It needs thorough cleaning, a dry substrate, the right temperature window and cure time before rain. What it cannot do is fix trapped moisture — coating over wet insulation seals the problem inside. A survey first is the difference between a restoration and a cosmetic exercise.
