Repairs that fix the cause, not just the stain
A leak almost never starts where it shows up indoors. Water runs along decking and follows framing before it finds a way through a ceiling, so the wet patch you can see is often several feet from the actual failure. That is why every repair we quote starts with locating the entry point rather than assuming it.
In practice most leaks begin at a transition — a valley, a wall intersection, a vent penetration, a chimney or the eave — rather than in the open field of the roof. A large area of shingle or membrane is repetitive and comparatively easy to get right. Transitions are custom details that have to be layered in the correct order, and that is where workmanship varies.
What a repair visit involves
We inspect the roof and, where access allows, the underside in the attic. We identify the failure, explain what we found in plain terms, and set out the options: a targeted repair, a larger section replacement out to a natural break line, or in some cases a recommendation that a repair is not the economical answer.

Common repairs we carry out
Lifted, cracked or missing shingles after high wind. Failed valley metal where two roof planes meet and flow concentrates. Step and counter-flashing at a wall or chimney. Deteriorated pipe boots around vents — inexpensive individually and a very common cause of a slow, long-running leak. Ice damming at the eave, which in this climate is frequently a ventilation and insulation problem as much as a roofing one.
If a roof is near the end of its service life we will say so rather than sell a repair that buys a single season. Where that is the case, roof replacement is usually the better value, and we are happy to price both so you can compare.
